Program: Recovering from Religion

Do you doubt your beliefs? Have questions about changing or leaving your faith? You are not alone — and we are here to help.

Recovering from Religion (RfR) exists to provide ongoing peer support for individuals who are examining, changing, or choosing to let go of their religious beliefs. We are not here to de-convert anyone or tell you what to believe. We are here to offer understanding, support, and healing during what can be a challenging and emotional transition period which may bring a wide range of feelings and have a ripple effect across many areas of life.

RfR Support Group meetings are designed to be safe, anonymous spaces where you can openly share doubts, fears, and experiences — without judgment, proselytizing, or biased feedback.

In order to ensure our group is a safe space for all attendees, we review and agree to certain ground rules at the start of each meeting. So please arrive in a timely manner. You do NOT have to be non-religious or an atheist to be a part of our groups, but keep in mind we do not allow proselytizing and we are not a faith-sharing group.

Most of our virtual meetings are open to anyone, and you can join any that suit your schedule, no matter where you are in the world. We also offer demographic-based virtual meetings for those sharing an identity or common experience (Women’s, Men’s, LGBTQIA+, Spanish-Speaking, Parents, etc.)
